Edgar Daniel Nixon was an american civil rights leader. He was a former president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Nixon was born on July 12, 1899 and died on February 25, 1987. Nixon was the one who wanted to challenge bus segregation in court. He told Parks, "With your permission we can break down segregation on the bus with your case." Park agreed and this sparked a new era in the civil rights movement.
